Seminole County has 46 non-SNP Medicare Advantage plans for 2027, down from 59 in 2026 — a change of -22%. Of those, 41 carry a $0 Part C premium. A further 67 Special Needs Plans serve the county and are counted separately below.
Seminole County keeps the largest Medicare Advantage menu of the three Central Florida counties we serve, and it also carries the highest average out-of-pocket maximum of the five — meaning the worst-case year costs more here than in Miami-Dade, even though both have plenty of plans. The carrier movement mirrors Orange: Health First out, AmeriHealth Caritas in.

A plan missing from the next year’s landscape may be non-renewed outright or consolidated into another plan. Your plan’s own letter is what tells you which happened to you.
Your Annual Notice of Change, and the letter that matters more
Your Annual Notice of Change
Every Medicare Advantage and Part D plan had to mail an ANOC by 30 September 2026. It lists, line by line, what changes on 1 January 2027: premium, deductible, out-of-pocket maximum, copays, the drug list and its tiers, the provider network and the extra benefits.
The non-renewal letter, if your plan is ending
A separate letter arrives in October. It opens a Special Enrollment Period running from 8 December through the end of February — on top of the normal window — so losing your plan does not leave you stuck.
The handbook, beside the letter
Medicare & You 2027 is the official plain-language guide, published in English and Spanish, and it is free.
The handbook is worth having beside the letter: Medicare & You 2027 (English, PDF) · Medicare y Usted 2027 (Español, PDF).

How Seminole County plans were rated
CMS published the 2027 Star Ratings on 8 October 2026, but the 2027 landscape file does not yet carry a star rating for each plan — CMS loads those separately. The distribution below is therefore the 2026 rating for the plans available in Seminole County that year, labelled as such, and it is the most recent plan-level rating that exists for this county.
Bar length is each rating’s share of the largest group, so the shape is readable at a glance; the figure on the right is the plan count and its share of all 59 non-SNP plans available in 2026.
The 2026 county average among rated non-SNP plans was 4.15 stars, with 72.9% rated 4 stars or higher. Nationally for 2027, 15 Medicare Advantage contracts earned 5 stars and no stand-alone Part D plan did.
Part DStand-alone Part D in Seminole County
Drug-only plans are priced by region, not by county. Seminole County sits in PDP Region 11, which covers Florida. The 2027 Part D parameters set by law are a maximum deductible of $700 (up from $615) and an annual out-of-pocket cap of $2,400 (up from $2,100). Once your covered drug spending reaches the cap you pay nothing more for covered Part D drugs that year.
The 2027 Part B premium has not been announced. CMS normally publishes it in November. Any 2027 Part B figure circulating now is a projection, not the rate.
Who this lands on in Seminole County
Seminole households are more likely to be on an employer retiree plan from a Lake Mary or Heathrow employer. Retiree coverage can be better than anything on the open market, and dropping it is often irreversible — do not cancel it to take a $0-premium plan without checking what you would be giving up.
Plans are sold county by county, so what is available in Sanford is available across Sanford, Altamonte Springs, Oviedo, Winter Springs, Casselberry, Longwood and Lake Mary as well — all of Seminole County. You must be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B to join a Medicare Advantage plan.
EnrolmentHow and when to enrol
Annual Enrollment
15 October – 7 December 2026. Change anything; it starts 1 January 2027.
Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment
1 January – 31 March 2027. One further change if you hold a Medicare Advantage plan.
Initial Enrollment
The seven months around your 65th birthday — three before, your birthday month, three after.
Special Enrollment Periods
Moving, losing other coverage, and — relevant this year — your plan not being renewed.
You can enrol through Medicare Plan Finder, directly with the plan, or with a licensed agent. Using an agent does not change your premium — commission is already built into it.

Questions people in Seminole County ask
Why is the average out-of-pocket maximum higher in Seminole County?
The mix of plans differs by county. Seminole’s 2027 non-SNP plans average a higher in-network maximum out-of-pocket than the other counties we serve, which means the ceiling on a bad year is higher here on average. Averages do not decide your case — your own plan’s MOOP is in your Annual Notice of Change.
Is Health First leaving Seminole County too?
Yes. As in Orange and Osceola, Health First Health Plans does not renew its plans in Seminole County for 2027 and does not appear in the county’s 2027 landscape. Members get a non-renewal letter and need to pick a new plan before December 7.
Does it cost more to use an agent in Seminole County?
No. Agent commission is built into the plan premium whether you enrol yourself on Medicare.gov or with help, so the premium is identical either way.

How these figures were computed. Every number on this page is calculated from the CMS landscape rows for Seminole County in both contract years, not typed by hand. Following CMS and industry convention, Special Needs Plans are excluded from the Medicare Advantage averages and counted separately, and the Part C premium is kept distinct from the consolidated Part C + D premium. Averages are unweighted means across plans; the Part D deductible average covers only plans that include drug coverage. Counting MA-PD and SNP plans together the way CMS’s own county report does gives 116 plans for 2026 and 103 for 2027. Snapshot generated 2026-10-12.
What this page does not show, and why. County-level Medicare enrolment counts are not available from our data sources, so no enrolment or “most enrolled plan” figures are given. Plan-level 2027 star ratings are not yet in the landscape file, so the ratings section is explicitly labelled 2026. County chronic-condition rates were omitted because the available CDC series returns two different unlabelled values per county — apparently crude and age-adjusted prevalence — and publishing either without knowing which it is would be misleading. None of these gaps is filled with an estimate.
